Threading is a method of hair removal originating in Iran, India and Central Asia In more recent times it has gained popularity in Western countries, especially with a cosmetic application (particularly for removing/shaping eyebrows).
Threading is suitable for all skin types, even those too sensitive for laser hair removal or waxing.
Threading hair removal compares the pain to tweezing. 
When the lasso-like thread grazes the skin, it's a light rubbing but nothing extremely painful. 
Different parts of the body have different sensitivity, so areas with more delicate skin—the sides of the face, or above the lip—might feel more painful.
